Technical Structure Of Fastener Thread
There are four common process structures of fastener thread, which are chamfer, washout thread, tool withdrawal groove, and bit Angle. As a professional fastener manufacturer, Xinchi Fastener Company is pleased to share the specific content about the process structure of these threads based on the knowledge and understanding of fastener threads.
Chamfer
In order to facilitate the assembly of internal and external thread and prevent the end of the bruise, the end of the thread is generally with chamfering. The chamfer is generally 45° and its size is specified by the standard.

Washout thread
When cutting the thread, the last few teeth are incomplete and cannot be used due to the influence of the tool exit or the structure of the thread tool. This incomplete thread is called the washout thread(l).

Tool withdrawal groove
Sometimes, in order to avoid a screw tail and facilitate assembly and machining, a tool withdrawal groove is made at the end of the thread.

Bit Angle
For undrilled small-diameter threaded holes (also called blind threaded holes), the normal manufacturing process is to drill the holes with a drill bit and tap the thread into the inner wall of the holes. Since the bit Angle is 118°, it is simplified to 120° for drawing. When tapping, it is impossible to tap the bottom of the hole with tap tapping, so it is not possible to make the depth of the hole full thread.
