3. Special tools (such as nut splitters) can be used directly to remove those locked bolts and nuts. When the nut splitter is used for operation, the nut splitter is first placed on the nut, and the nut is separated from the bolt by pushing the tool head through mechanical force or hydraulic pressure. The method is convenient and quick, especially since the hydraulic system is used to push the cutter head, saving time and effort. Note, however, that some improvements should be made in the method of operation if the bolt is to be retained from destruction and only the nut removed. Because at the moment when the tool head splits the nut, the tool head also leaves an indentation on the bolt stud due to inertia. Even if the tool head is controlled as much as possible in the application process, the feed speed still leaves a certain trace on the bolt.
