What is a flange screw?

Flange screws are mainly composed of a hexagonal head and flange (hexagonal gasket under the fixed together with the hexagonal) and screw (cylinder with external thread) two parts of the fastener. When it is used, it needs to be matched with the nut for fastening the connection of two parts with through holes.

This type of connection is called bolted connection. If the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a detachable connection.

Flange bolts are a common fastener. It is widely used in road and railway Bridges, including industrial and civil construction, cranes, excavators, and other heavy machinery. Flange bolts have a wide range of applications.

Classification of flange screws:

According to the type of hexagonal flange: there are two kinds of hexagonal heads, one is the flat brain, and the other is the concave brain.

According to the surface color: the surface color of flange screws are plated white, military green, the color yellow, in addition to never rusting Dacroaccording to different needs.

According to the force mode of connection, there are ordinary and hinged hole flange screws. The flange screws used for reaming holes should match the size of the holes and be used when transverse forces are applied. In addition, in order to meet the needs of locking after installation, there are also flange screws with holes in the rod part, which can make the bolt not loose when subjected to vibration. Some flange bolts of the unthreaded rod need to be thin, called thin rod flange bolts. This flange bolt is good for connection under variable force. There are special high-strength bolts on the steel structure, and the head will be larger and the size will change.

Common materials for flange screws:

High carbon steel C%>45%. Hexagonal flange face screw product material is basically not used in the market at present;

Carbon steel 0.25%, hex head screw carbon steel material, usually known as 35, 45 steel, foreign basic known as 1035, CH38F, 1039,40 ACR, etc. Mainly used for Class 8 nuts, Class 8.8 bolts and Class 8.8 hexagon inner products;

Low carbon steel C%≤0.25%, usually known as A3 steel in China. It is basically called 1008,1015,1018,1022 and so on. Mainly used for 4.8 class bolts and 4 class nuts, small screws and other products without hardness requirements. (Note: 1022 material is mainly used for drilling tail nails.)

Alloy steel: add alloy elements in general carbon steel, increasing some special properties of steel, such as 35, 40 chromium molybdenum, SCM435, and 10B38. Hexagon flange face bolts are mainly made of SCM435 chrome-molybdenum alloy steel, mainly composed of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr and Mo.
