What Are Carriage Bolts?

Carriage bolts, also known as coach bolts or round head square neck bolts, are fastening bolts characterized by a round, domed head with a square section directly underneath it. This design is ingenious for applications where the bolt needs to be locked into place from one side, preventing it from turning as the nut is tightened from the other side.
