Installation: To install a solid rivet, it is necessary to push the rivet through a pre-drill hole on two or more parts and then tap it at one end or use a riveting tool to expand it to form a “rivet cap” to hold the part in place.

Hollow rivet

Structure: The body of a hollow rivet is hollow, and it usually consists of a tubular structure that may be closed at one end and open at the other. There is usually one end that is flat or with a head, and the other end forms a flat rivet cap after installation. The appearance is similar to a small tube, one end may be closed, and the other end will be squashed or expanded when installed, forming a fixation.

Usage: Hollow rivets are suitable for joining thin sheet materials because their installation does not create as large a concentration of stress as solid rivets. They are widely used in light industry, apparel, footwear and other industries, as well as applications requiring beautiful and lightweight connections.

Installation: When hollow rivets are installed, they are inserted into pre-drilled holes, and then a special tool (such as a rivet gun) is used to squeeze the hollow part to deform it and secure the part.
